Camera Phones

camera_phonesEven since before the age of smart phones, camera phones have been pretty popular. But since the new era, they have really taken off. Even the simplest of phones has a camera on it, as shown above. But has it really become to much. I mean, Nokia has a 16 megapixel camera on a phone. To me that’s ridiculous.

Camera phones are replacing regular point-and-shoot cameras. An iPhone 4s and an iPhone 5 record in 1080p, which is the same as my high-end Canon EOS 320HS point-and-shoot.

The question for today is, will camera phones eventually just take the place of point-and shoot cameras? The iPhone 4 has become the number one camera on Flickr, most of the pictures I see on FaceBook and Twitter nowadays are from Instagram, a Smartphone only app.

Only time will tell.
