A look at Pioneer’s AppRadio

Do you own an iPhone or iPod but have an older car without Apple CarPlay? Pioneer released their first aftermarket solution, the AppRadio 4 if you’re interested in upgrading your car radio. If you’re not living in the world of Apple, Pioneer also has included support for Android devices.

You can hook up your iPhone with USB or over bluetooth. There’s also an option of using an audio to audio ox cable or a USB thumb drive with music on it if you just want to play music to it.

When plugged into an iPhone with the lightning connector, you can use the touch screen or Siri commands hands free to listen to radio, text people and listen to texts, call people and use your maps to find nearby restaurants for example. It’s just like the iPhone but on your car radio instead!

Do you have a newer car with Apple’s CarPlay or planning to upgrade your current car? Will you get CarPlay in your next car?
